I know I just posted about mental health; if I’d known that today was Mental Health Awareness Day, I probably would’ve waited to post about my upcoming appointment. However! I feel like I need to post again, in order to stay true to the general theme of my blog.
I’ll keep this short, because I’ve discussed my mental health a lot previously. I have anxiety and depression. I was diagnosed my sophomore year of high school. I’ve gone through various forms of therapy, and various medications. It has not always been smooth sailing, but I get through it with the help of some pretty amazing friends who act as a support system. I’ll link some of my other mental health posts here, in case you want to hear a little more about my journey through all of this: mental health, hurt, therapy, and medicine, although there are more.
I’ve been told that I’m brave to speak about my mental illness, but I really wish this wasn’t the case. People should be able to talk about their struggles without ridicule or fear. I hope that by posting my story, I can inspire just one more person to open up about mental health. If I can do that, then this is all worth it. Happy Mental Health Awareness Day!
Stay tuned for more updates,
xoxo, second sister suzie
