Emerging Writers

As many of you know, over the summer, an excerpt from my short story “Pressure” was selected to be published in Minnesota’s Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction. This was an amazing opportunity to get my work out to a wider audience, and, of course, being able to say I’m published is pretty cool. It was especially satisfying to find out that this publishing company had found my work through this blog. Knowing that I’m actually reaching people here is such a reassuring thought (sometimes it feels like I’m just talking to myself on here!). Well, yesterday I had a representative of the same company (Z Publishing House) reach out to me again. I received news that along with their state-wide publications, they also publish a nationwide version of the book. Of over 2000 stories that were selected for the 2018 Emerging Writers series, my story was one of 136 that is being published in the nationwide edition, America’s Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction. I didn’t even know they offered a nationwide edition, so this news was quite a shock to me. I could not be more excited to have my work featured in another publication. I’ll be posting again within the next week or so with more information on the publication. They are aiming to have the book available for Cyber Monday, so it seems as though they’re cruising right along. In the meantime, if you’d like to support your favorite broke-college-student-blogger, you can purchase the Minnesota Edition of the anthology here. I do receive commission for any sale that comes from that link, and I greatly appreciate it! Otherwise, check out the story here on the blog (linked earlier in this post) and let me know what you think! I would never have had this opportunity without this blog, so I am eternally grateful for each and every one of my readers. I couldn’t do it without you! Stay tuned for more updates, xoxo, second sister suzie
