As many of you know, I started my job at Hobby Lobby last Thursday, two days after I got back from Texas. It’s been a wonderful experience so far, and I can’t wait to see what else comes of this. Not only did I start this job, though, but I also began an internship with New Rivers Press last Friday! I’ll be working with this publishing company throughout the summer to get my feet wet in the world of publishing (which is, as of now, what I would like to do once I finish school).
So far, I’ve been working on press releases and screening some manuscripts. I’m BEYOND excited to see what I can learn while working with the wonderful Nathan Rundquist. Hopefully this experience will help to solidify my plans for my future, and if not, I hope it will help to lead me in the right direction.
Less offical, yet no less exciting, is my becoming a pet sitter for one of my sister’s coworkers. Her current pet sitter is moving away, so I am taking over watching her adorable cat, Shifu, while she’s out of town over the summer.
Just look at this little man! He’s one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met (although Charlie will always be my number one), and I’m already looking forward to spending more time with him.
I think that covers all of my new employment endeavors! I’ll be keeping myself plenty busy with all of this, but fear not, the blog will remain a high priority. I promise!
Stay tuned for more updates,
xoxo, second sister suzie
