Sister Bonding in the Crescent City

The weekend before last, I had the wonderful opportunity to have my older sister Emily, and her boyfriend Danny, stay with me for a few days. I hadn’t really realized how much I missed having my sister around me until she was back. My heart has been aching since she left me. Luckily, I’m heading home for thanksgiving in a week, so I’ll be getting A LOT more sister time.

While Emily and Danny were visiting, I had the opportunity to explore some new areas of New Orleans, discovering some pretty great restaurants and shops in the process. We got great sushi, Mexican food, and burgers, which was a welcome change from my usual cafeteria food. We also found the cutest bookstore I’ve ever been to. There were so many books that you could spend days lost in all of them. I’m already looking forward to the next time I’m able to explore there.

Along with our exploration of the city, we had a great time enjoying all of the homecoming festivities on campus. Tulane was flooded with people for homecoming/parents weekend, so there was a carnival and an even bigger tailgate than usual. Emily and I taught my suite how to play one of our favorite card games, and they all loved playing, so we’ll most likely be playing again soon.

It was amazing to have my sister with me for the weekend, and I’m already counting down the days until I can see her again, this time on Minnesota soil instead. Only one more week, and then I’ll be back to the constant laughter and harassment that comes with being around my older sister.

Stay tuned for more updates,

xoxo secondsistersuzie
