Mojo Coffee House & Magazine Writing

Yesterday, I discovered my new favorite place to study/write in New Orleans. About a 20 minute walk from campus, Mojo Coffee House is an adorable hometown coffee shop. Don’t get me wrong, I love my PJ’s coffee, and the convenience of being on campus is definitely a plus, but there’s just a different vibe when it’s a hometown place (I’ve really been missing my coffee shop at home, Graffiti Corner!). That, and I’m very much a fan of going for walks, so this distance is ideal. I went with a friend of mine that I haven’t spent a ton of time with outside of class, and it was really a great experience. I see my future self spending many afternoons here, studying for finals and writing blog posts or stories.

Or perhaps writing some magazine articles! A few days ago, I applied to write for a brand new on campus magazine called The Crescent, and I just got news that I will be joining their team once applications close on October 30th! This is the first writing position I have applied for since officially deciding to switch my major, and I could not be more excited to see where this leads me, both as a writer and as a person. You can check out the magazine online at https://tulanemagazine.com/ and find them on Instagram @ thecrescentmag, but I’ll be sure to post updates when I officially start working with the magazine.

Until then, I’ll keep writing my blog posts, exploring new coffee shops around New Orleans, and studying a ton. Stay tuned for more updates!
